University Medical Center HCMC – Branch 3 (UMC3), formerly a 50-bed medical facility affiliated with the Traditional Medicine and Pharmacy High School was recognized as Traditional Tue Tinh II by Decision 06/BYT-QD dated January 3, 1997, of the Minister of Health.
In 1998, Tue Tinh II Traditional Medicine High School merged with University of Medicine and Pharmacy at Ho Chi Minh City (UMP), forming the Faculty of Traditional Medicine (FTM).
On October 18, 2000, the Ministry of Health issued Decision No. 3639/2000/QD-BYT, officially establishing University Medical Center HCMC (UMC)
University Medical Center HCMC – Branch 3 was formerly an inpatient and outpatient medical examination and treatment facility equivalent to 50 beds belonging to the Traditional Medicine and Pharmacy High School (later renamed Tue Tinh II Traditional Medical High School according to Decision 06/BYT-QD dated January 3, 1997 of the Minister of Health)
In 1998: Tue Tinh II Traditional Medicine High School – Ministry of Health merged with the Department of Traditional Medicine under the Faculty of Medicine – UMP to become the Faculty of Traditional Medicine – UMP.
On October 18, 2000, the Ministry of Health issued Decision No. 3639/2000/QD-BYT to establish University Medical Center HCMC. On November 30, 2000, the Principal of UMP signed the document. Handing over Traditional Medicine Practice Hospital (Block A) along with facilities and real estate on the campus of Faculty of Traditional Medicine – UMP to University Medical Center HCMC – Branch 3 – UMC . Since then, UMC has 3 Branch and University Medical Center HCMC Hospital – Branch 3 is officially a member of the large family of UMC.
When first established, UMC3 had only 2 departments: the Department of Traditional Medicine and the Outpatient Department. To date, UMC3 has completed its operating system including: 2 departments, 3 units, 1 center and logistics departments: Department of Acupuncture – Yang-Sheng, Department of Traditional Medicine, Day Treatment Unit , Pharmacy Unit, Paraclinical Unit, Hemangioma Center, General Administration Department, Finance and Accounting Department. The hospital is always at the forefront of medical examination and treatment in the field of Traditional Medicine combined with Modern Medicine for people in Ho Chi Minh City and provinces across the country.
